Summary: Jawbone II Review
Comment: I don't like the new Jawbone bluetooth, it doesn't stay in or on your ear. TOO Loose!!

Summary: Sucks "almost" as bad as the original.... but still it sucks
Comment: My intense disdain for the original Jawbone would have kept me from ever considering the followup model, but as luck would have it, my wife got one for free from a friend a few months ago. My hesitation to consider forking over another 100 dollars of my hard-earned cash to these turkeys was well-warranted, because I quite frankly hate this thing almost as much as the old. Oh to be sure.. some of the problems with the original Jawbone were addressed. The ear loop seems far sturdier and less prone to snapping off, unlike the original. The rubber earpiece covers are far less prone to coming off, now that they attach like a normal cover does. The end cap isn't prone to being pulled off when disconnecting the charger now.

So why do I hate this thing? For starters... the proprietary USB charging cable is still a hangup. WHY OH WHY not just use a mini-USB connector like most everyone else? Get with the program, people! Then there's the earpiece covers. It comes with a variety to suit most anyone's ear. I'm not generally too fond of these myself, but these hard rubber ones that come with the Jawbone 2 seem much less comfortable to use than the "gel-like" softer ones common with other headsets. And finally... this thing is nothing less than an utter pain in the rear to use. I'm constantly tapping the button to answer a call whenever I touch it. Worse... I may be on a call, and putting my hand on it to adjust it ends up ending the call. And pairing it... what agony! To put it in pairing mode, you have to press the power button and the call button simultaneously until the light blinks alternately red/white. BUT... while pressing the power button, my finger often obscures the light so you can't see the blasted thing without some maneuvering. And pressing one button down seems to interfere with the other from being pressed down. I kid you not... it took me 5 minutes to get the blasted thing to pair with my wife's phone last time she used it for a bit after I first got disgusted with it. Now that I'm trying to use it again (she hated it and quit using it), I couldn't get it in pairing mode despite trying for 10 minutes. Thankfully I just found my preferred headset (a Jabra),which had been lost for a couple weeks, so I am tossing this Jawbone away. It's all too aggravating to use and deal with. You'd be better off with a string and tin cans instead of this thing.

Summary: "Noise Assassin" is not as good as the fit is bad.
Comment: I don't care how well the "Noise Assassin" works, this product just doesn't fit. Zero out of six ear-buds fit in my ear and keep the unit in place, with or without the hook. Any type of movement (e.g.: talking) will wiggle the thing out of my ear and off of my head. I have read all of the reviews with solutions such as the Jabra ear gels, but for $60 the Jawbone 2 should fit perfectly straight out of the package with the included ear-buds.

When it does work, the sound is very tinny, but that is expected from such a small speaker.

In all, the Jawbone 2 should accomplish one task: it should enable me to make hands-free phone calls. It doesn't.

Summary: Lousy fit and ergonomics, great sound
Comment: The Jawbone may perform admirably as far as technology. I generally don't care about that so much, not having a sports car, and trying to avoid loud environments when I'm on a conference call.

My issues are that the unit simply doesn't work well. I've tried all the different tips, including the available free additional tips and none of them stay in my ear. You can jam the thing in there but it slowly works its way out over the course of a couple of minutes. And since the only button is the external body of the unit, if you try to press it back in you end up hanging up the call. Great idea not to have a button or anything. Similarly if you try and turn the thing off or on, you hold down the "button" and you'll find your thumb covers up the little red/green light that tells you whether its on or not. Stupid.

Summary: Great Device
Comment: Have had this for a little over 6 months now and love it. It is the third bluetooth device I have had and by far the best one. Sound quality is good...people could tell I was not talking on a land line, but I was easy to understand. What I like best about this device is that it is the only one I have found that fits in my ear, and stays in my ear, without having to use an ear loop. It fits easily in my ear and passes the "shake test"...shaking my head around to see if it stays in place...which it does. Granted, the controls take a little getting used to, but the way it is designed helps with the style. I don't like to walk around with a huge piece of hardware stuck in my ear. For the price, this is the most comfortable and stable bluetooth I have found and it paired easily with my iPhone.
